End Notes

With the final edit over, I’m at the happy stage of writing the bibliography and acknowledgements for my new novel, The Cattlemen’s Daughter - out in October!
Again I have to stress my gratitude to living legend Ian Stapleton, who inspired me to tell my story.
Ian is a go-giver who has established outdoor centres for troubled kids and who has beautifully recorded the history of the Victorian Alpine region, where my fictional book is set.
The two books photographed influenced my work greatly. Ian’s titles include Hairy Chested History, From Fraser’s to Freezeout, From Drovers to Daisy Picker and Weatherbeaten Wisdom.
If you are interested in the history of the High Country of Victoria and want to buy Ian’s books, write to Ian Stapleton, Feathertop Track Harrietville, Vic, Australia, 3741

Branded!

I know I have a hunky husband, but my next choice of men on this earth would be my beloved Country Rock Legend, Adam Brand. (Not that he’d even look at an ol’ schnoozer like me!)
I’ve followed his music career since the early days and am now thrilled to see his cheeky, down-to-earth personality representing our country culture on TV’s Dancing with the Stars.
My son Charlie loves him too and so we are on his email list and this just came through. Make sure you vote for him to keep him dancing.
Voting may be good for the television stations and the phone companies, but it is also a way of putting country music into the mainstream, like Taylor Swift has achieved. I hope my books do the same thing, because, as we all know, ‘Country’s really big these days!’
For those of you who didn’t know Adam had surgery on Monday to remove a stone in his saliva gland. The operation went well and he’s recovering.
He’s finding dance training difficult as a result so he really needs everyone to vote as much as they can to keep him in the show.
