French Fizz for Celebrations!

The day before the next draft of my new novel was due into my editor, I was seriously considering giving away this writing caper! It can be so dang hard!

But then out of the blue came a bottle of fine French Champagne from my UK publishers, Preface, to celebrate the launch of The Rouseabout in England. (Renamed The Dare for their market.)

Also in the mail was a letter from a writer friend who has also juggled kids with a writing career.

So I’m back on track now! Amazing what a bit of grog does for my morale and a kind word from a friend!

You certainly deserve it Rachael! You’ve done wonders to write so much and so successfully in between all else you do in your life.
But I’m curious as to what the tipple was when you celebrated your first novel – I bet it wasn’t quite so posh?

Hello Rachael, I just happened upon your web site. I’m interested in our family tree & as I’ve just begun I’ve only a scant amount of information. I live in Columbus, Ohio with my wife Kate. I am originally from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area & still have a older brother and sister that still live there with another sister in Jasksonville, Florida. I do have more info to share if you are at all interested. I would like to hear from you if you’re so inclined. Dave Treasure

I must admit I only picked up your book Rousabout when I was away with my kids at sport as I had forgotten to take a book with me. I was blown away I could not put it down, I went straight out and bought the rest. Hurry up I ready and waiting for the next instalment.

I also noted that you were influenced by Tony Parsons, so while I’ve been waiting for your new book I went and bought Valley of the white Gold, it was great and as my husbands family come from that direction it was great to be able to read bits out to him to see if he could place the characters. If you need more drinks to keep writing I send you a case. Cheers and Keep up the great work.
