The Rouseabout Roadshow rolls on …

posted by adminin Books,The Writer's LifeComments (19)

Busy, busy, busy …

There’s been a spectacular response to The Rouseabout and Penguin, my publishers, have already ordered a second print run.

Here’s an easy way to find out where I will be doing book signings over the next two months. Click here to go direct to Penguin’s events page. They’ll update it if there are any unexpected changes.

Look forward to seeing you …

Hi Rachael,
Congratulations on the success of Rouseabout. I know it is doing really well nationally but thought I would pass on that it has hit number one at Angus and Robertson in Wagga Wagga. You are a champion and all the best with your tour and book signing.

Hi Rachael, was wondering if you’re considering coming over to W.A, as I’d love to meet you! You’re an awesome inspiration to the girls out there who love the land! Even though things are slowly changing its still a bit difficult to be a farm girl in whats traditionally seen as ‘males territory’ So if there’s any chance of you coming over it’d be awesome if you could let me know! I’m trying to save to get to the Casterton Kelpie Muster… but dont know if I can, I especially want to go so that I can meet you!
Well Thanks for listening, hope you come over to our beautiful agricultural region!

BTW my favourite book so far is The Stockman because my favourite animal in the world is a kelpie, especially my 8month old red cloud pup called Corby!

Hi Rachael,

Is there anywhere to buy your new book online. Im in the USA and have been waiting for almost 2yrs since I read your other two books for another one……so ohh so excited!

By the way when is someone going to sign you up to make a series of Movies based on your books……I think they would be a huge hit on the big screen!

Hi Rachael,

I recently purchased Jillaroo and would have to say this is definately the best book that I have ever read. I couldn’t put it down! I cried, laughed and connected with Bec even though I’m a city girl.

I’m on my way to the bookstore tonight to purchase The Rouseabout.

I too would love to meet you and if you can make it to Victoria for some additional book signings I know your Vic fans would be very appreciative.

Hi Racheal
I’ve just finished reading the Rouseabout.
Loved It!! I first found yuor books last wet season (I’m from Katherine NT)while on hoildays at the Sunshine Coast. With the boys watching Cricket I picked up the book for a look and could not put it down. I ended up buying it so I could finish it and also got the Stockman.
I seem to be able to relate to all the books.
I grew up on the land at Yuleba (Roma) QLD.When working on the property my grand parents belived grils sound be inside.
I went to the Longreach Pastoral Collegeand after leaving I worked around the area as a Jilleroo,Rouseabout,Shearers Cook and many on odd jobs.

Now my husbane and I Manage a Cattle Station outside Katherine NT. We work all our stock with dogs and love what the bring to our day.
Thank you for 3 wonderful book

G’day Rats, long time-no speak! Ali sent me this link ages ago but it has taken me til now to have a look at it. Congrats on all the success. Looks like you have found a way to drought-proof your farm too!
Would love to catch up at some point. We have just moved off farm & into town, working an office job. NOW I am drought-proofed. Bit of a shock after 20 years in the bush, but Goondiwindi is as good a town as you’ll find.
Anyway, drop us a line when you get time to scratch yourself.
Cheers, Tim

Hi Rachael,
I have just spent a very relaxing Sunday reading Rouseabout…. Thank you. Like Jillaroo and The Stockman I could not put it down. Your books make me want to go back home, pull on my boots, run a muck at a BnS, and relive my childhood. Thank you Rachael for great reads and fond memories.
Cheers

Hi Rachael,
Congratulations on another brillant book – The Rouseabout. I devoured it within a few days of buying one from my local book store. On Friday I was stoked to received the autographed copy you sent to me, thank you very much! I was checking out your book signing tour dates hoping you would come to Queensland however, seems as though the southern states have you busy for the next few months. Looking forward to seeing you and John in Tasmania in June. Best wishes and lots of continued success. Cheers, Tania K.

Hi Rachael,
I just purchased your new book the Rouseabout, I must honestly say I have not read your other two (YET). My usual book reading is more crime/suspence… till now!! I saw an add in a magazine for your new book, and while out shopping saw it and on a whim, decided to give it a go. As soon as I started I was thrown into a world I am not familiar with, but found fascinating. Congratulations on a fantastic book, one that I am now shattered I have finished, its a story that you could just keep reading on and on. well done, Im going out to get your first two now, and know I will be hooked.

Hi Rachael, Pleased to hear you have Rouseabout on sale and will be off to buy it. I enjoy your books and love reading about the country life. I lived on a sheep station for my first five years and my grandfather’s name was John Barker Treasure, and my dad Desmond Treasure. I will have to check “The Treasures” family book. Sorry you were ill and not able to make it to Caboolture Library. My cousin and I will be there when you can make it. Hope you are feeling better soon. Regards, Christine (nee Treasure)

Rachael, Rouseabout was absolutely fantastic. I didn’t want it to end! I finished it last night and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I love the way how you write is so real and contemporary. If school kids were made to read books like yours a lot more kids would love reading I’m sure. You have really opened my eyes to the world of farming and how important yet how hard it is. From reading your comments on this website I can see your strong views coming through in the book but above all your passion for farming. You are right when you say ‘Farmers feed the world’ and yes they don’t get enough credit, funding etc for doing so.

You are such an inspiring person, thankyou for writing such moving and wonderful books that you simply cannot put down until you have finished.

Hi there,
Just loved your latest book The Rouseabout, I could not read it fast enough. It was surprising to see my name in print as one of the characters and I share exactly the same name and interests – bit freaky to say the least. Sorry to hear that you were ill and did not make it to SA and missed the opportunity to meet you. Can wait for the next book! Keep doing us Aussies proud with your writing style.
Cheers,
Felicity
