Great mates

What a difference mates make when you are feeling low.
With a bleak winter, my pony dead, more work than I can poke a stick at, a novel to write, kids to raise and a school and community to revive, John and I were feeling a tad overwhelmed.
Then I found this letter in my email inbox from our friends in the north of Tassie who are taking care of our cattle for us during the drought.
It seems our heifers, aptly dubbed ‘The Treasure’s’ are loving life. Thanks for this letter Trace and Deb. It was the best, cheer-us-up gift we could’ve hoped for!
Hi Rach and John,
Â
The “Treasure’s†at Boon’s asked me to send you a quick email to say how much they are enjoying their holiday.
Â
They said to say they have been moved today to the farm on the opposite side of the river.
“The grass is lush here and there is lots of roughage available in the sags also.Â
Our bowel movements are very good and none of us have dirty bums!
The view is magnificent, the hay delicious and the company … well, we are still trying to come to terms with the company, they are funny colours up here, all grey and black however they are willing to share their abundance so we are grateful.Â
Today we had lots of rain which made our coats wet but our dark red colour really stood out. Don’t hurry up to get us, we can take a bit more of this.Â
We do miss you though and when we get back we will be prime for breeding. Mooooo times 8â€
They do carry on.
I have attached a couple of photos at the “Treasure’s†request so you won’t miss them too much.
We think they have improved, what do you think?
Love Deb and Trace

That is good that the move has helped them gain condition. I am not a cow person (more sheep) but they look pretty good!! Hope the conditions improve for you!
